I plan on doing some wrenching on the 6.2 this long weekend. I'm installing an electric lift pump & pre filter. The pump comes with 5/16" fittings. Should I step it up to 3/8" or is that gas motor thinking...?

My two 6.2's have 1/4" fuel inlet barb fittings & hose on the feed from the secondary fuel filter,to the injector pump... (where a secondary filter would be,on the back of the engine--mine has none, might have been deleted ?)--the hoses from the tank to the filter and the steel lines were 3/8 factory,I had to use a 3/8" to 1/4" barb reducer fitting to mate the hoses to the injector pump..

I think the 6.2 wouldn't know the difference if you used 5/16" fittings and hoses at all, seeing GM thought 1/4" was big enough at the injector pump..figuring an engine that gets 16 mpg @ 65 mph only uses a gallon every 15 minutes or so,so not that much volume is needed..
