Never worked with these type of fittings...what are -6 AN threads? is it a standard thread with some type of way of sealing or is it something completely different?

its a threaded tip for lines... usually used for fuel or oil, braided steel lines.
oh, and you should probably use a special wrench set for the fittings if you are planning on messing with them. regular wrenches, being steel, can damage them.

for sealing the lines require a flare that cant be done by any flare kit but you can lines flared that seal right from advance auto
