Got some braided teflon line going across my exhaust. It's maybe 1.25"- 1.5" away. What do you think? Should I move it? If I did move it, I'd probably only gain another .25- .5

Heck I had braided stainless laying on the exhaust right off the manifold for like 3 months and never had an issue, didn't even bother the line. Rubbed a shinny spot on the exhaust

Depending on where along the exhaust it is, it could cause a problem. My poly gas tank melted a bit when the exhaust tip was around 3" away. Also need to consider whether it's heating the fuel. I had a fun pressure buildup in Moab that I thought was caused by my fuel
pump being too close to the exhaust.

Its not easy, but maybe I'll move it just to gain the extra half inch. I'll have to look up the heat tape, all I have is a sleeve I can slide over it but trying to keep it clean.

Thinking about fuel boil.... If its a returnless system, I'll bet its more likely to boil. If the fuel actual gets to the rail/carb and the extra is sent back, I bet that extra flow helps keep it from heating up next to the exhaust. My system is returnless.

I would at least get some of the reflective heat wrap....I put it on my brake lines that are close to the headers.

Definitely move it. I guess you didn't hear about my fuel boiling issues this year at the bash. My fuel line was about the same distance away, and after 6-7 hours the fuel in the tank got hot enough that it wouldn't run. I realize that some of mine was from slowly heating all of the fuel in the tank and you are running returnless, but why take that risk.

Could you at least secure it with one of those line clamp things that screw into the body? That extra .5" would be plenty me thinks. If you wanted, after mounting it to the body, put a sliver of heat tape to cover it right there and call it good.

To me,I would try to gain the 1/2 inch, and wrap it,the bigger concern to me is your electrical wiring,it looks close as well,or is it just the way the photo is taken??

Nah, it's just wrapped up temporarily. Just need to finish it out the back and put it in a loom.

I was there for that. The end of Golden Spike, whatever that flat long windy trail was.
