This is probably a super easy question and might make me look retarded but here goes...

Did these trucks come factory with a fuel return line leading right back to the tank? Reason i ask is that the PO had a rigged up electric fuel pump dangling in the frame rail near the tank. It was sucking fuel from the tank and sending it right down the line to the Mechanical Lift pump. I dont really understand why he did this but he did. This got me wondering what was factory and what is not. The line from the tank to the Mech. pump is 1 piece but there is also a 2 piece line running along side of it, and i cannot remember where it connected to on either end, if it even did at all.

No return line as far as I know. The extra line is probably the vapor line that went up to the charcoal canister.

Service manual does show a canister near the battery, but think that is for a truck application. For the Blazers it looks like you will have three lines all going to that tube in your drivers rear corner (manual calls it a "container"). Two lines come off the nipples on either side of the fuel tank, and it looks like the other might be coming from an "inter vent pipe" which does look like a line running up the frame. Dunno how to D/L that pic for ya though...

Thanks for the replies...really makes me sure now that it is the vapor canister. Thank god as i was pulling the truck apart i took pictures of everything at every little step. I mean how and where every wire, tube, line went and how it went there.

LMC sells a fuel line kit and it includes the main line and a 2-piece line all running inside the Pass. frame rail, just like what i had. Then looking at my pics i saw that the mysterious 2-piece came out of the frame right before the tank and ran atop the frame rails all the way around the tank and then up to where those 3 lines lead to the fillertube, capor area.

Here are some pics of the boogerness electric pump for your enjoyment.

Your PO has mine beat. I also had a busted nipple with a regulator added to the front wheelwell. One problem I'm gonna have is that the hard lines that should be sitting directly under the tail gate and inside the frame cap are all missing. Found that out thanks to this post, lol.

Yep, those be the ones. Any pics of your lines (still in the frame) Dave?
