fuel lines

metal lines fine.

3/8 feed
5/16 return
1/4 vent

rubber needs to be efi hose to use with the 12-15 psi average pressure of tbi. carb use hose is not rated for that pressure.

so I can use EFi hose from my sending unit to the existing hardlines and from the end of the hardlines to the TBI unit? will hose clamps suffice?

that is correct.

just make sure you flare the ends of the line just a little to help hold the hose on the end from sliding off.

nope. just free flow back.

but if me i would do the return just to be safe. and the quality of the hose will be better and last longer.

Last time I got the rated fuel line I got it online somewhere and a 20 ft roll was cheaper than 5 feet from the parts store. But that was sometime ago

Just had 10' of 5/16" (all that was in stock) 25' of 1/4" (only sold in 25' spools) delivered to my desk....supplier was out of 3/8" so I'll have to wait for that but its a start... oh and it was free:whistle::woot:

Don't mean to ? this but isn't the 1/4" line used for the return and the 5/16" used for vent on a '76? I'm asking because I'm in the same situation on my rebuild and have replaced the hard-lines with SS on my '74 K10 and the 5/16 gets routed across the very front x-member and pops up just above the left frame rail to go to the carbon canister.

Pretty sure they are all 3/8th feed, anything after pump has to be EFI rated. 5/16 for return and the other one is vent from charcoal canister.

I'm new to the fuel line running game... Are these numbers the same for a '87 K5?

Would a braided fuel line from the tank /sender be okay to run up to the engine bay, or should I stay with the hard line?

Appreciate any assistance.

Oh it's definitely a TBI... with all original parts as I discovered today when I took it apart to add a fuel pressure gauge, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and rebuild the TBI. It was pretty dirty, and the gaskets were rotted.

I asked about the fuel lines, because all my issue so far with this blazer seem to be fuel related. So, I decided to redo the entire fuel system to include the lines. I would like to relocate the fuel filter, and before I get too deep into my planning I was just wondering if: Would a braided fuel line from the tank /sender be okay to run up to the engine bay, or should I stay with the hard line?

I wouldn't change the hard line... usually the braided parts from factory don't go bad unless a human messed them up. What you have should be fine unless damaged.
