Fuel Pressure Test Q - This is what I found on the pump

All pump gas has 10% Ethanol in it, unless it is racing fuel. There is no getting away from Ethanol mixed fuel as far as I know. Those rubber pads are anti-vibration pads I think. They can probably be tossed and not used at all if that is what Ethanol does to them.

A fuel stabilizer would be a good idea if it sits more than a month. Today’s fuel really is shit

There are a couple of stations in town the sell "100% gasoline" for about $0.25 more. It's not racing gas though, 87 octane I think. I guess I need to go read the fine print.

Around here we have one station with 87 octane ethanol free for about 30 cents more per gallon, and one station with 91 for a dollar a gallon more.
I have been using the ethanol free in my 2 old trucks for several years. And even in in the old '72 K5 and now the '90 Jimmy when I know that they aren't going to be going much, which has been often lately.
:doah:

I have seen a few of those from pumps that I installed in the last 5-6 years turned to goo just like you describe. Also have seen some that the replacement hose crapped out but the rubber isolator was fine? Took mine apart just to check for this and it is fine. Same part # pump from same time period, just figured they had some issues with rubber quality. All Delphi tbi pumps.
