How the Hell can these oil companies justify charging 60% of what we paid up here last summer at the pumps when oil is at 27% of it's value from last summer?:dunno:
I don't watch the news much, but I know there is some "creative" math going on somewhere.
Just out of curiosity, what are fuel prices going for down there?
Diesel was 71.4/liter and gas was up to 87.9/liter today.
At least diesel has dropped below gas as it should be.:D

The price has many factors. I know one reason its not lower is because when they were making all that money they were using it to start "new projects" (off shore drilling/new methods/etc.) And now that they aren't making **** they can't afford all of they projects they started. They don't just have a certain mark up.

IMO this is all bull ****, there a handfull of idiots making huge amounts of cash on this..speculation and abuse are factors

$1.95/ gallon here in South Central PA...for 87 octane...and yeah hopefully it stays that way for a while

No it will go up about May and in July it will be $3.50 a gal when I take my trip again. :doah: 600 gallons of fuel :(

Yea that's sucks. Couldn't use the boat last summer cuz gas was ridiculous.

A few years back Price Line had a thing where you could buy gas in advance. They sent you a fuel card and the company would take the cost of fuel you bought off card.

The way it worked was
I buy it at $1.37 pump says $1.50 I get it at $1.37
It was for local companies (use it in your station only) but they got the money when you charged up the card. Lasted about six months then they quit doing it. :(

Well it's all offer and demand, they started by lowering the price to raise demand, that didn't work much so now they are lowering the production numbers, I have a fuel card from a Commercial Fueling Network and the sales guy that I deal with tells me what is going on, he already told me that in april it will go up to close to $3 and then by may it will be close to $4, and he showed me chart where it's not speculation but planned pricing chart.
It's all a game and the goverment is in on it, they don't care about us, just about big companies.

This is more lounge material, but in the U.S., someone who just got voted into office was going on and on about how oil companies made too much profit the last few years and was discussing adding windfall profits taxes and other ways to reduce those profits.

You don't think the oil companies would just pay the extra fees and keep prices the same do you? They are just getting ready to pass all those extra future taxes onto consumers.

gas was up to 87.9/liter today.

Is my math wrong or does that really come out to $17.78/US gallon? Or is that 87.9 cents per liter?

Huffed,
Here in FL (North Central) we're paying about 54 cents/liter and diesel is about 70 to 80 cents per liter.

Stop complaining man...

Vancouver BC...diesel in the 'burbs is 91 cents a litre. Gas is 94/L.

Oil is what $35/barrel now? Must be that new math.

Rene

Not complaining, we've actually had it pretty good here in North America. They've been paying over $2 liter in Europe for quite some time.
This isn't shocking with the amount of greed in this world. The rich get richer... yada yada yada.
Just sucks that I(and tens of thousands of others) can't find a job right now seeing as I work in the oilfield industry if they're still making heaps of profit.

$1.83 for reg 87 its still over $2 for diesel.

I was just thinking to myself earlier today that hey what happened gas used to be $1.52 and its slowly been creeping back up.

gas

$1.88 i for 87 octane in Northern Michigan. $2.29 for diesel

It still comes down to this

Around $1.80 here, with a refinery 90 miles away. The "experts" explained earlier this week in our newspaper that the gas prices are rising even tho the barrel prices decline is because barrel pricing is for "west Texas sweet crude", but gas is refined out of inferior but more expensive imported crude. -------WTF!
