fuel pump ? 99.5 gmc sierra

I think my fuel pump is going bad. I've been looking, and I see both complete modules and just the pump.

Can I just get a quality pump & swap it or do I really need the entire module...

any aftermarket recommendations....

What is the price differance between the two? If it's not that much....I'd do the whole thing. Once you drop the tank (or pull the box) it's real easy to pop the sending unit out and drop a new one in. At the very least, I'd replace the pickup sock (if so equiped) if only doing the pump.

As far as pump brands. Stick with a name brand. AcDelco is my prefered choice.
