ive got the whole truck ('99 C2500 work truck) to remove everything from, computers and all. i'm wondering if anyone can shed some light onto fuel pump compatibility. i know a TBI pump doesnt make enough pressure for a vortec MPFI system. what i dont know, is if the vortec pumps/sending units would install into my suburban's fuel tank or if a vortec pump will work with a TBI sending unit. my old sending unit and pump were pretty much destroyed so they're gone. if i can get a new TBI sending unit and a new vortec pump and make them work happily together inside my suburban's tank that'd be great. so does anyone know more about this than i do?

get a pump for a 96 c3500 with the 5.7 vortec .

my old truck like that was steel tank still and same shape / plug pump so it will swap on older tank sender like we run .

i act used one in my 2wd build with ls motor .

most places will try and sell you a loaded sender. if you ask thay can et no pump new senders . so your not stick with a new pump for tbi on the shelf.

I run a 96-98 vortec pump on my tbi motor. The sending units are the same for the trucks, the pump pops right into place. Was one of the best bang per buck upgrades for my tbi motor. New ac delco pump off ebay was around 65$ shipped

exactly what i wanted to hear! thanks man!

Finding a sending unit locally without a pump in it was kind of a pain in the ass. So one of my co workers brought me the one from his '90 suburban, same size tank so it'll work just fine. Now I'll order up my fuel pump and clean the tank and that part of my project is done.
