Fuel pump and fuel pump relay. -SOLVED

No. The oil pump will close with enough pressure, allowing the engine to run without the relay working. Many people think it's a fuel cutoff for safety reasons, it's the exact opposite.

So if I go outside and unplug the FP relay with the truck running it will not stall? The FP is powered independtly by both the relay and the ECU (via the oil switch)?

This I got to see on a schematic to believe it.

Now this I would believe, FP relay work for first couple of seconds, then it hands it over to ECU that must see Oil Pressure to continue feeding the fuel pump circuit.

To have 2 independent feeds for the FP all the time makes no sence.

Look at the wiring if you will. The relay and oil pressure switch are in parallel, not series. One does not have to operate for the other to work. Why would GM run an oil pressure switch ($$ and complexity) for no reason? There is no oil pressure input to the ECM.
