Hey guys, I've got a carbd 350 that won't start so I thought I'd ask the ck5 crew. My truck has stuttered when you slam the gas since I started driving it a few weeks ago, then recently it started sputtering bad and the power was very inconsistent. On my way home from school it started sputtering and jerking around I thought it was out of gas so I pulled over and asked my buddy to bring some gas up. We put plenty in and it started up but had the same symptoms. I got it home going 10 miles an hour in first gear and the thing was sputtering bad. As soon as I made it to the top of the driveway the engine started shaking alot and stalled. I started it back up a few hours later with my dad and this time it only stayed on for about a minute and did the same thing. Now it won't start at all even with some on and off gas pedal. I checked my fuel lines, the thicker one had plenty of gas coming out of it when I took the hose off. The thinner one is dry. What do you think? The fuel pump WAS from autozone...

What brand of carb? Edlebrock, Holley, Q-jet, etc.? Did you check filters, both inline and carb fuel inlet? Do you smell excessive gas odor like when it is flooded? Does any smoke come out of the tailpipe when stuttering?

its an edelbrock. checked the filters, don't smell gas not sure about the smoke. I looked into the carb and pushed the gas with my hand, the jets aren't spraying at all. Also checked the fuel line running to the carb and no gas came out at all when I pulled it nor did any gas come out when I cranked the engine over with the hose off.

i bet its the fuelpump if you got it at autozone you should still have the warranty change it out its really easy ....by the way really sweet blazer you have there

If it's a pump issue than it's probably not a carb issue. the carb keeps enough fuel in it to run for about a minute, with no other fuel entering it. The bowl in the carb holds about a half a cup at all times.(depending on float settings)
Now, if it was not getting enough fuel to keep the bowl full you would experience a sluggish and jerky acceleration, after a minute or so of hard acceleration. What your describing happens almost immediately right?

pour some gas in the carb and start it and let it idle
if it works fine
then definitely it is a fuel supply issue ( bad pump or clogged filter )
