fuel pump for tbi to carb swap

i have a 91 tbi 350 that i want to run a carb on is it possible to run my mechanical fuel pump on the 91 block? when i take the plate off the side there is a hole, but will the fuel pump run off the cam properly on these engines has any one used these with a mechanical fuel pump?

If the block has a delete plate and you already verified there is a hole then the cam will have the fuel pump lobe for a mechanical fuel pump.

for real thats awesome cuz i like the simplicity of the mecanical fuel pump
i just heard that you cant do this on these engines without cangin the cam

Does the same apply if it is a roller cam? I am in the same boat with an 89 engine.

An 89 engine won't be a roller cam unless it's from a car or someone retro fitted it into a truck block, but yes there should still be a fuel pump lobe on the cam.

i did a mech pump swap on my 91 and it works fine
