Fuel pump Ground Wire

so let's say that when I dropped the tank, I pulled the ground wire out...:whistle: Any way to get it back in, or am I headed back to the parts store?
 
im guessing the sender unit, the other end of the wire you can just crimp a ring terminal and bolt it down.
 
If i'm not mistaken the ground wire is just soldered to the sender and then bolts to the frame, the reason being is because of the isolator strips that are supposed to be on the tank straps that would prevent a good solid ground.
 
What is this on, I just replaced my sending unit and still have the old sending unit with the wires on it. The one I have is from a 90 blazer.
 
I've got the tank for 89 off my truck right now. I get 0 ohms between the ground strap and the top of the sending unit and also 0 ohms from the ground strap to the gas inlet, so any metal place on the tank is ground. Also, I connected 12V to the gray wire on the harness and ground to top of the sending unit and gas inlet, both operated the pump. Likewise both of those locations and reading the resistance at the purple wire on the harness gave me resistance readings for the sending unit. But I'm sure someone will put their 2 bits in and say I'm using my ohm meter wrong and question my test methods. :whistle:
