my grandparents 98-99 4x4 4d gmc yukon died on them the other day, cranks fine but the fuel pump isnt running. replaced the pump and added the new connecter. still wont pump

now i replaced the relay and with my test light i am getting a constant power to the relay with key off on one pin and a short bust for the fuel pump prime with the key on on another pin.

down at the connecter im not getting anything though, cycle the key and hook a test light individualy to all the pins and test each one and the light never comes on

i know my connections are good, what else could be my problem for not allowing the pump to come on?

also the fuel gauge is all the way over to the full side even when the key is off if that helps any.

If you have 12 volts at the relay but nothing at the pump then you must have a bad wire somewhere in between. Check anywhere that the wire comes close to the exhaust system to make sure it hasn't gotten hot enough to melt the wire somewhere. Also make sure the pump is grounded good.

my little brothers truck is acting funny and the fuel pump isn't coming on. Maybe the same problem :dunno:

well i ended testing it right before the plug and i had 12 volts so i guess my great wiring job wasent so great at all because the gauge worked and so did the ground but my 12 volt power wire wasent getting connection. so i cut it, re crimped it, and now all is good to go. so it was a screw up on my part.

u put butt connectors under there? unless they are the shrink wrap kind it will lead to future problemsm
