fuel pump issues

hi im new here.my son has an 89 k5 .seems the fuel pump is not pumping we can hear movement in the tank but little to no fuel coming out before filter.new tank, lines are clear from tbi to filter .we are using the relay bypass plug to battery to test.is there a weak spot at the pump pick up that we dont know about?

There’s a rubber line in the tank that tends to split.
You’ll need to drop the tank which can be awkward if a lot of gas is in it. Don’t know how much fuel you have coming out while running the pump but try draining it the way you’ve been testing it to make it lighter.

thank you for your reply.i had a feeling someting of that nature.truck has been sitting ten plus years so things dry out.
