Fuel pump pushrod?

Went out to install my new fuel pump today on my 6.2. I got the old one off and went to find the pushrod to make sure it was fully extended. It feels like it is jammed down and its not moving at all. I rotated the engine with a breaker bar and the rod didnt even move. Did I do something wrong? Im not having a very good feeling about this...

I don't know if the pushrod on a gas is different then on a diesel but, I had this same problem on my gas motor. I used a magnet to persuade the push rod up enough to get the fuel pump back in, major PIA I hope this helps.

Hmmm... Ill give that a try. It just seemed really jammed up in there.
