Fuel Pump Question

I was just wondering if a 1983 K5 Blazer silverado edition had a mechanical mounted fuel pump or a electric in line fuel pump?

Stock was a mechanical pump.

I ordered the machanical one and then i went under my truck today and i found an electric one inside the frame rail. Could i just use the mechanical one in my truck instead of the electric one if i have the mechanical onoe installed already?

You must remove the electric pump if you're going to use the mechanical pump instead.

better yet just use another quality electric pump. Way easier to change if it fails off road. I had a holley mechanical and it took a dump on me on road fortunatley. I had two tons of hay on the truck and it left me stranded between colorado springs and woodland park.
