Fuel pump question?????

OK, got the new fuel pump installed today. Did not cure my problem, but seems to have exposed a new issue. I know the pump should come on for a few seconds before starting. What would keep it running for 10-20 seconds after turning the key off?
It's an 87 TBI 350.

It's suppose to do that, mine always has anyways.

Mine always ran a couple of seconds, but this new one runs for 10 to 20 seconds. I can shut the key off, get out and walk to the back of the Blazer before it shuts off.

The old pump only ran 3-4 seconds after shutting off the engine. The new one runs about 30 seconds, why would that change and what controls that time? The ecm?

im sure its normal like these guys r saying. but just to throw a wrench in here. maybe ur fuel pump solenoid? the contacts may be getting stuck longer than they did before?

Ok, it is normal. For some reason it now runs for a couple of seconds when the key is turned on, and now when I shut it off it runs for about a second now. The damn truck is haunted by ghosts of Armagosa Valley!
