I have a holley fuel pump for a BB chevy, I got it for free it has a spring that goes in between the acuator(this is the arm that the fuel pump pushrod pushes against, the black arm in the picture) and the housing, what is the spring for? The spring is broken but the acuator returns on its own, is it just to keep positive tension on the acuator when the motor is off, the acuator has about 1/4" or so of freeplay when it is in its resting position off the truck.
The spring is supposed to go where the red line is thanks guys
