Good morning everyone, I recently purchased a 1987 TBI K5 Blazer, I've been wanting one forever but just never had the time/money/space for one, not that I do now, but I bought one at a great price. Battery was dead & was kind of in a rush when I bought it so I had it towed. Once I got it home, i put in a fresh battery & it cranks but no start. Poured fuel in the carb, cranked & it started right up! Didnt think to check all the fuses, turns out I had a bad ECMB 10 Amp fuse out, at the point I already have the dank dropped & fuel pump out & I'm getting power to it but since I already have it out, I went to buy a new pump at oreilly. When I tried to install it, it was about 2" too tall. I looked at the old pump & it looks like the previous owner cut the pump & rewarded to make it fit. The tank has the square/rectangular baffle. Do I have a 25 gallon tank? Anybody run into this before?

If i recall 25gal tank is both halfs same height .

31gal bottom is deeper than top half .
You Englished me right out of that…

@Todomevale
Tank is out, run a tape measure all three ways, post those up along with the pump number. What @sweetk30 ia referring to is that they only change one dimension at a time resizing the tanks from the factory.

You may have a mismatch

Yeah, mine looks pretty flat, so I'm assuming a 31 gal fuel pump won't fit in a 25 gal tank.

The pick up tube will not. If your old one is in good shape and the fuel gage was working, you can put the 31gl pump in you old pick up tube assembly

Can you return and get correct unit?
Might be best return, consensus here Walbro, or genuine AC Delco are the pumps to use. Best quality and dependable
