fuel pump

i have an 87 gmc 3/4 ton pickup, dual tanks and the right fuel pump wont run, i put a new pump in and put 12v to the red test wire and still wont fire, the left tank never work so i just used the right tank with no problems till now, any common problems or other things i should check?

Ground.

If you've got 12V going to the tank, either the internal wiring is bad, or the tank ground is bad. Tank ground is easier to check. Multimeter, tank to frame or tank to body needs to have continuity.

the tank and sender are grounded, and im not getting power to the tank

either the switch it self or the switching valve for the tanks
