Related to my other post about fuel tanks. If the 89 has pumps in the tank why does my 91 appear to have just one electric pump mounted on the rail? It sure looks factory to me.:confused:Dis they switch back for the final year?

never heard of a factory frame mounted fuel pump, especially not on our trucks...

if it has wires going to it, it's a pump, and aftermarket, if no wires, it's a filter

Just crawled under and sure enuff its a fuel pump with a factory harness going to it. ( I dont know if I was clear on the truck it is a 91 cc 4x4 dually duel tanks)

I'd like to see the "factory harness", maybe the dual tanks simply has pickups in both tanks and the one pump?

the pumps should be in the tanks. what your seeing is the valve to switch from one tank to another. the valve is operated be the switch in the cab from the valve it sends power to the pump in the tank for which ever tank you select.
