:waytogo: first off i'd like to think everyone for helping with previous post about ignition control module issues...anyone know where to find a fuel sending unit for a 26gal tank?! i keep finding 31/40 or a 25gal. LMC don't have anyone other than Autozone clerks to discuss anything with so im curious if i could use either a larger/smaller gal unit somehow?! Ty all!:zombie8:

K5's only have 25 & 31 gal tanks. 40 gal is for a Suburban.

ty nvrenuf..the autozone computers used at the local chevy dealership couldn't answer if i'd been off by a gal after guesstimate on how much gas i poured vs actual, they actually only offered the diesel parts he said and werent even avail for the gas sbc, never had fuel guage working since i bought the truck to restore. speed sensor and fuel sending unit were both out

Tank size is not an exact science. Even if they were made to a high precision, gas will expand and contract according to temperature.
Plus, tanks are measured according to a certain fill point, and you can often put more in.

Best bet is to go with the 25 gallon one, and consider the extra gallon a reserve.

Pretty sure you have a '25 gallon' tank, it just may hold 26........

Second that on diagnostics. Have you ruled out all the other potential problems that could cause your issue?
