Good day guys.

Question garding the tank float semding unit.. I have a 84 Chevy Blazer withwawith 305 engine

I need a new unit bub there are many types of floats online.. How can i know the right one for my truck without taking the old one out

Without going and looking at what you are seeing for options (which I'm guessing are related to emissions) I'm thinking the best thing to do is to crawl under the truck, and look at the top of the tank. As long as you are running stock (at least for the U.S) exhaust, if you sit under the passenger side of the truck, just forward of the rear axle, you can see the top of the tank pretty clearly.

The "hard" differences I can think of are:

Diesel vs. Gas
31 vs 25 gallon tanks

The "soft" difference I can think of would be how many and what type of fittings are on the sending unit itself.

The operation of the sending units are ALL the same, so you don't have to worry about that one.

Not being in the US, if that is not a US spec truck, then it is possible you have a sending unit we wouldn't be familiar with for an '84. I would definitely want to make sure I got one with the same amount and type of fittings as it has now.

Or a baffle inside the tank came loose and dislodged the float from the sending unit. BTDT. In which case you need a tank, and sending unit and may as well get a new pump while you have the tank removed.

Recommend removing the tank, gotta do that to fix it anyhow.
