fuel tank wowes...

Ok so now a few years back I posted around trying to get my dual tanks working again.. well got it... also have a diagram if anyone needs it.. cheesy mspaint but works...

now I have never filled the truck.. well in the last few years.... so since im up for inspection and guaranteed to pass worked last time.. I filled up and put that stuff in... well I was on 1/4 tank... and only took 6 gallons.... then at full it was reading 1/2 tank.... I switched to my right tank and it reads 1/4 tank and I know it isnt full..... so im probably gonna fill it to see where does it go..... if it goes to full ok then my float is bad.. but if they both read 1/2 tank when full... where does that leave me? so it would be the gauge?????

79 chevy dual tanks....

i know each tank has wire to ground....
tan wire from each tank up to switch
pink wire w/black stripe on switch i think goes to dual tank selector relay

there is a green wire and blue wire i dont know where they go..

i think the blue goes to the gauge but it is weird.. it exits the truck to come back in??????
