I've developed a fuel leak on my passenger tank just assuming the tank is leaking who makes the best replacemnt tank and sending units I'm planning on replacing both tanks and everything, thanks for the help!

spectra premium o.e.m supplier and aftermarket available at most parts stores . my local pick-n-pull junk yard cant be touched when it comes to tanks/senders/radiators new from them . so check your local places first .

make sure you look first . it might be the short rubber hose from frame lines to sender on top of tank .

The Spectra tanks seem to be pretty good and not too costly--there was a company (MTS ?) making plastic tanks too, that cost about 60 or so bucks more than a steel one...I'd be tempted to go with plastic seeing things rust and rot here so fast..but a steel tank will probably last 10-15 years too,if its galvanized well..

my replacement was Spectra...I was impressed with the quality.

They make good stuff. My dad and I have used them for years in the Radiator business.

I've got a spectra new in the box for my blazer. Looks fine.
But if you paint it it will void the warranty.

I called and asked and apparently the tank has a coating on the outside, forget what it's called off hand.

I called them and asked what they recommended for paint and that's when they said it voids the warranty and wouldn't reccomend any paint.

I purchased the MTS Plastic Tank. T2225a_v1.jpg 2225A_v2.jpg he fuel neck from tank didn't clear the frame, it was suggested I heat the neck just a little to bend it up just enough to clear the frame. I wasted the shipping of $190 and sold it on Craig's list.
