fuelie head p/s bracket

Successful, i would say you've been "lucky" if that is how you do things.

Theory? I've probably been working on cars/trucks longer than you've been alive (31 years now). Maybe you should heed some advice from people who have ACTUAL HANDS ON PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE as i do. :deal:

Hold on a minute. No one here is questioning your experience. Someone is looking for solutions to a problem, and you dont like my answer. Our friend will do what ever he sees fit to do with his own engine. I am also a professional auto technician. If we were to compare our credientials we would probably measure up about the same as well as years of experience. But since we are not competing for the same job opening, and nobody here really cares how old either one of us is, I will not brag about my background.

Secondly, is my solution ideal? Absolutley not. Will it work? Yes, if you were carefull. Will he use my idea? I dont care if he does. But he is a farmboy, and they are very inventive.

Thirdly, there is some risk involved. If this were my customers car I wouldn't suggest this remedy without fully explaining the risks to them.

Fourthly, This entire CK5 forum is about people modifing there chevs. I have seen several ides on here I like and have used and some I have not liked. Just because you dont agree with an idea doesnt mean its bad or wont work. Just do what you feel is best for you.

Fifth, Happy New Year to all

If the motor is in the truck and removing the heads isn't an option, then I don't see how drilling holes into a water or oil jacket is a safe idea even if the mounting surfaces were flat.

The chance of metal filings getting into places where they shouldn't is too great for a motor that needs to run well afterward. I know some people try vaseline or grease to keep stuff out, but there's too great of a chance to screw things up.

Dont drill the head its a Hack move pony up and buy/build brackets

the problem your having is not new

I am looking in to the same thing and what I have found so far is this.
Bracket for the power steering-http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=SUM%2D340100&FROM=MG

And this is bracket it goes behind your original alt bracket
.http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MCH-20122&FROM=MG
i was also going to sugest summit.they had about a gazillian different brackets and may have what you need.or getting one built for you or building it yourself.but that can get costly.

Why not take everything you want off the camelbacks, sell them to a collector, buy some modern cylinder heads with similar specs that have the accesory holes in them already, then be able to use all the OEM brakets. Dont drill into the heads, If they were supposed to have the holes the general would have put them in. Just my thoughts
