i have a 2001 2500HD pick up with a full floater rear. i also have an 85 K20 burban with the sf rear. can these axles just be swapped or would there be alot of extra stuff that would have to be done.

Some extra stuff. Not sure on teh spring pad width, but brake systems are different - drums on 1, disks on teh other.

The pads are different width but it can be done easy, and the newer one has disck brakes so you don't have to mess with a kit to make them disc braked

would the older drum brakes work in the newer truck?
Kiss your rear abs goodbye, doubt it would function properly.
Why canabalize a truck you own and drive? Just look around for a newer FF out of a wrecked truck or something, then you dont have to steal teh one from your truck.
