If I go full hydro with a double ended ram I have to center the ram on the axle. I have a thick dana cover that I have beefed up with 1/4" plate and SOME plating around the bolt ring and grade 8 bolts. It is my undrstanding that if going full hydro I will HAVE to weld brackets on the cover to hold one end of the ram. I'm a little leary of this and don't like relying on the cover bolts to handle that much stress. Could I get some pics- non member here so pics that I can see of some of your set ups?

Have any cheaper places to buy the parts needed to get this together- like TRE ends and tube, brackets for mounting ram, orbital etc.

you wouldnt have to center the ram on the axle, but you would end up with unequal steering links. Workable, but not desireable, since you would have carry two spares.

I built a hoop from my axle tubes out and around like so

There is a mouting holes for the ram on the hoop and a tab welded to the axle tube too. Works well. If i had more clearance I would go above my leafs but it works.

you could get TREs at your local parts store otherwise for complte steerings system parts

For just rod ends and what not i would check
www.polyperformance.com
www.ballisticfabrication.com

The cheaper way out is to find used orbitol off of a forklift or what not, thats what i did, and made all my own brackets.

I guess a pic might help show you what the cover looks like. This has 1/4 plate between all of the lower bolts and behind the white piece at the very top. Also- what psi hose rating is recommnded for full hydro and assist?

This one shows better the plating against the bolt rim.
