Anyone else see this news story from a couple of days ago?

http://www.kval.com/news/local/Emer...ster-truck-show--168274856.html?tab=video&c=y

Inaccurately described as a monster truck, but then they corrected it by calling it a "mud bog". :doah:

Anyway... It just got me thinking about guys who run "full hydro" on street driven trucks. They might not have 950HP like this Ford, but at highway speeds the carnage would likely be even worse.

and thats why i say for years full hydro on street = bad news if this ever happened.

also as a state motor vehicle inspector i have failed some crazy stuff and seen some SCARY stuff . and most of the crap vehicles has kid's seats in the back . . . . :eek1:

Full hydro is not good for the street. Theres a select few that argue that its fine and in all honesty if done properly it can be but it takes good engineering and quality parts like return to center orbital valves.

Theres no way that happened from the pump going out that I can imagine. Id venture to say he tore the left side line off while steering right and the pressure with no resistance locked the wheel to the right.

exactly why im not a fan of it, i always liked hydro assist. It is a rare failure, one in millions, but craziness happens all the time

Part of the reason mine came off. For strictly dirt it was fantastic.

But did th brakes fail also? The tires were spinning the whole time.
