Is a stock 78 K5 full time 4 wheel drive? No manual hubs up front so from what I read I think its full time 4x4 but wanted to double check.

I'm new to blazers so forgive me this is a stupid question. I see my options are H LOC, H, N, L, L LOC. Can someone advise on the preferred way to shift between those gears and what their general uses are? I figure the transmission should be in neutral and at a full stop when shifting into any of those different settings.

H LOC - low traction (snow, mud, sand) at lower speed (50 or under)
H - everyday driving
N -having the blazer towed
L - everyday driving w/ reduced traction (rain) at lower speed (40 or under)
L LOC - ultra low traction (snow, mud, sand) at lowest speed (15 or under)

make sense? Thanks in advance.

id leave it in high under 99% of the circumstances, low should be offroad use only, low lock extremely slippery and offroad terrain, and then high lock in snow. I change my tcase when the truck is off and in park, at any rate anything engine back should be at a dead stop.

IF it will even shift...they can be troublesome to shift, but a tough t/c.

you an shift from loc to fulltime and back at any speed. just not from low to high or high to low

they always shift, just more often it's by themselves.

Yes, NP203, fulltime 4WD. The Hi position is the same as todays vehicles that are AWD.
