Hi, does anyone out there have had a seized bearing on a front axel? I have one and I'm having one heck of a time to get it off. I am wondering if the only way is to pull it off with some kind of a puller? As it seems the bearing is stuck to the spindle where the axel goes through. Any help would be great. I have had this truck for 12 years, and it's an on going project...

which bearing? if its the inner bearing you should be able to yank the rotor/hub assmbly off and then cut it off with a cut off wheel or torch if your really good. if its the outter... no idea.:(

If you are talking about the wheel bearing race, knock it out from the backside with a chisel and a hammer.

problem with outside bearing..

Yes it's the outside bearing, it's stuck pretty good, I guess the only way is keeping pounding from the rear to get it off, I thought about a puller but I am not sure wether it would work or not... thanks for getting back to me soonest.
Well maybe I should have told you guys that the router is still on the truck, which makes it hard to get at.I am thinking that pulling it off is the only way any thoughts?????

You can try a hammer and chisel, but I always use a die grinder, cut a nice deep slice into the race, then crack it all the way through with a chisel and BFH, then they come right off then is off to polish it with a little emery cloth till smooth, then clean and install new parts.

front end 4x4 problems

Thanks, but the hub is still on the truck, the outer bearing that holds the hub and router on. It siezed the other day. I have all the guts out but the outer bearing is all that is left. I tried using a hammer and chizel with no luck so far. You see you can't get behind it to hammer on it because of the backing plate. Like I said before I thought about using a puller some home I will try it tomorrow.
