I have the cut locations and measurements -

What differences are there to address when converting doors, specifically at the rear of the door.

The rear vertical window track is supposed to be different, how? Can a 76+ track be modified to work?

I know there’s a plate tack welded inside the door that the cosmetic cover screws to, does the plate serve any other purpose?

Are the window belt mouldings different between full and half top doors?

I really did not want to cut my original doors, they are MINT, but decent doors are hard to find.

>>> Btw, if anyone has these parts for sale that I could use on my doors, holla!

Hey, you are welcome to come pick up my passenger door to use as a template. I just need it back by 2028 which is probably when I'll be at that point in my build:haha:

The 2 braces(they just keep the doors from being floppy since the window frame is open) look like you could make them. I have seen them for sale on ebay

Good to know that the plates just stiffen the shell. Does the window track attach to it?

The window track attaches to the door in three places, the top spot is the plate. There is also another brace at the bottom middle of the door

I cut the bottoms of my doors off last weekend and one of the tracks fell out of the bottom. I only had them mounted with the center bolt, good to know I should tack it to the top plate. I don't see a mount on the bottom?

I'll window mine tomorrow and post a pic. I'm curious about that too. It's hard to see how it attaches from looking down from the window slot

I was thinking of when I took the window track out of the driver's door and couldn't remember any cutting I had to do so I dug it out of the parts pile and mystery solved. It just leans against the back part of the door at the top and is bolted on with the 2 brackets

Thanks for the pic! I dont see this style anywhere, wonder if they don't make them anymore. All I can find is this: which is whats in my doors, just one bolt to hold it into place.

It might be they were never made. I have heard the door and parts were fabbed from the truck doors at the factory for the few years they were made. I don't know if that's true. Maybe somebody with more knowledge will chime in
