Looking for cage pictures of full verts with a soft top. How much space did you leave etc.

IME you will have a bit more room in front and possibly a bit less in back . Not due to the top but due to the bows.

Only way to know for sure unfortunately is to get one. Your small build the cage a bit loose to the hard top you should be fine

I feel your pain, I can't afford a Softtopper either. Fwiw, I've heard a Jeep JK 4 door bikini top is roughly the right size for a Blazer (never tried it though).

Rob has one and I plan on measuring his. I know he has said his Diy4x cage has about 3” of space between it and the topper.

I can't swing the softopper either but will be using sunbrella to make a bikini top. Just a thought if you don't need sides.

Hey buddy :D

If you develop a full top bikini, think about making a few to help with your cost. I’d be interested in one and don’t mind helping you cover your cost since you’d be doing all the work.

Along that same line, Softtopper sells the snap strip the screws to the windshield frame for about $40. The might make things easier.

Was thinking the same but haven't tried it either

Unfortunately I have not started my cage yet but even with the Softtopper I was gonna squat the cage a bit toward the rear just for looks and I don't mind the losses of vertical height

I don't have a full vert & it won't be fancy enough to sell. I'm not talented. Sometimes we get to letter awnings and the material I have is from my f ups.

Hahha, usually just paint runs or adhesion issues.

Yah I was gonna make something for sun coverage on longer wheeling days, just don’t know exactly what to make it out of. Not sure what my wife’s sewing machine is rated for, but it just needs to block the sun, and maybe a little rain. It’s a wheeling rig/ play toy so I don’t have to worry about daily issues. End if the day the soft topper can be used for sun shade just roll the sides up, but at the price they are getting I’d rather just throw some material over the cage until I can afford it.

That's the only thing I don't like about the soft topers. The rear sticks up right at the back
