Noob for sure - First post and apologies if redundant. Took on a well beaten 74’ k5 that was hacked terribly by the PO leaving it without the front drivers cab support, 1/3 of the torsion box missing, sagging cab and broken outer rocker.

reading through the forum I see it would be best to work to get the tub square and start with the top for alignment to the windshield frame, quarters, etc.

It didn’t have the 3 mounting brackets and having a hard time sourcing them or the dimensions to create some mock up pieces in attempt to get this thing square to start getting the boxes, floor, kick panel, support pieces back in to strengthen.

any solid aftermarket ones or dims anyone has come across?

thanks again!

What parts specifically are you looking for? The parts to strengthen/keep the body straight when the top is off?

The 3 top brackets that hold the top and windshield frame together.

With the front driver mount, rocker, rocker box all missing it sags terribly and thought it best to put the top back on to try and bring it into alignment. Then build out the kick panel, rocker box supports, floor, etc to keep it there. If wrong idea or direction will take any feedback I can get.
Thanks again!

I have the three tabs to hold the top to the windshield frame. Not for sale. No one I know of remakes them. However, if you want I can take picture of them so you can get the dimensions and fab your own. I'm about 80 miles away from them now but I can get my dad to take some pics if you need them quick.

I had a set, I have to look for them tonight.
I have to look for a bunch of parts tonight :doah:
You are not far from me.
I am in Lincoln.
If you need help figuring things out I had a 73 and a 74.
I did a frame off restoration on the 74.
I will let you know tomorrow if I find the brackets.

That would be awesome - really just need as reference to create a bracket that holds spacing.

thanks again.

I actually found a set on eBay. When they arrived I was like dang I could have made these. Just some plate steel 1/8" with 3 holes drilled in them. I thought there was someone here or pirate that had the whole set for sale, a pillars and all.

Yeah - not opposed. Just trying to get accurate dims. Need to use the top to try and align the cab to have a fighting chance. Appreciate the response.

When you get ready for the doors I took some measurements that will help you in the link above. I talked to my dad earlier. I'm gonna call him tomorrow and get those dimensions for the tabs. He has my windshield frame because his buddy has a large parts cleaning tank and we're gonna submerge the windshield frame.

No worries - thank you. Have doors, just off - hinges a nightmare. Appreciate the link.

Here's a start. Best I could get out of my dad over the phone. My mom took the pics while he held the tape measurer... that even sounds inappropriate!

Looks to be five inches long. 3 inches wide where it bolts to the windshield frame and around 2 5/8in wide where it bolts to the top. Didn't get measurements of the holes but since you have the top and frame you should be able to figure those out. Notice the two holes where the top mounts to the frame are enlongated to allow some play. Your biggest hurdle is that this piece isn't flat, or least this tab isn't. I think flat metal would still work but you might have to get creative.

thank you! Helps a ton. Looks like about 3” with some tolerance for the gap between bolts in the windshield and and the top. Helps me out as we fight to straighten out the tub so it can live it’s life topless.
