Fumes

I have a 73 Blazer with a brand new crate 350, and running it with a carb and points. How do I get ride of these fumes? Will HEI help? Fuel injection? A cat? Or do I need a new carb? I want to run a soft top but with these fumes I'm afraid I'll gag my kids. I rerouted my exhaust to the side right behind the rear wheel. It helped some but still gets drawn in through the rear window when it's open.

i dont know alot about this but i heard if you put a wing on the top it deflects air downward and not into the cab

Changing to HEI will make your life infinitely easier but won't rid you of the smell. You may be running rich or something, but in general, K5's often get exhaust inside with the back window open.

Soft-top might help, as it'll change windflow. Soft-tops are NOT airtight =))

The wind deflector on the back might help, push the exhause away from the window.

Also, running the fan inside creates a positive internal pressure, which should feed (relatively) clean air from outside into the cab.

Or go topless. You have a full-convertible rig; use it!
