I have noticed that my 305 k5 has very fumeY smelling exhaust at idle. I can let the truck idle for 20 minutes and then check the plugs and they are very clean almost white(but this dam near runs you out of the garage). The truck does not seem to run rich nor is there any driveablity issues either. The pipes are a little sutty.....

Open to all suggestions....

Well your catalytic converter is what takes away those fumes. My guess is yours is either going bad or you may not even have one. Then again driving down the road with no cat you'd still smell is pretty heavily. You might have a leak in your exhaust before the cat. That's what it sounds like considering you only notice it while sitting still. Check to see if there are any holes and go from there. Good Luck.
