Thought i would share my first trip down to rousch creek in PA. We are all from CT and I am the only one with out a tow rig, but i trust my driving and my rig, so i took the 5hour drive down friday morning early following my friends brian (jeep with chevy drivetrain 4link) and eric, in the sami with toy axles, other friends in yota pickups and disco and even a range rover. Yeah, classy rig!

We wheeled, friday and saturday, packed up and came home today.

We then made our way to rock creek via the purple trail

This is where disaster struck.. now let me tell you guys, this truck is the single most capable truck i know of, its been beaten silly for 5years and well the rock creek ate it, the truck has a very healthy r22 turbo bla bla 200to 1 or sumthing crawl ratio, it just flat out works... unfortunately to much beating for that long killed it. This is where our wheeling adventure ended.

I also have to say i am very happy, i was the only one who doesnt have a trailer, drove their stuff 267miles each way, wheeled a lot, *maybe not has hard as the others* but still very happy!

Only downfall for me is the PA state police did not like my trucks bumper height,, got a 111buck ticket for being 1" over legal on both and tires 1" out... oh well!

i wish.. this weekend cost me SO MUCH $$ i will not be making a return until the fall atleast.

Let me know, it's only about a 2 hour run for me to get up there. My brother is hoping to have his Wagoneer ready late summer and I'm sure my K30 will not be at full potential in 3 weeks:doah: so I'll definitely be making a few trips up there this year :D

When I was working for Nissan back in 2004, they brought an '05 Tacoma, and '05 Durango, and the then new body style frontier. They let us run the frontier up an articulation ramp to see how well it flexed. They wouldn't let us try the Toyota because the first time they tried it, they bent the frame, and they had leased the Toyota and the Dakota to do the demonstrations at the dealers... I tried to get them to let us try and bend it back, but try we're afraid we'd break something! Grey pics!!!

I don't know how you could fight it :dunno: but another state can not ticket you for excessive bumper height/exposed wheels if your truck complies with your states laws. The general consensus is that they throw you a ticket knowing that you can't/won't come back to fight it and you have no choice but to pay it and move on with your life.

From what I've read this happens a lot in Moab when trucks come from out of state with different laws and they get ticketed for not complying with Utah laws even though they are not from Utah. Most pay and move on, others who have the ability fight it and win because it's bogus. I don't have first hand experience just have read articles on it before. It seems right in the way of "how can I build my truck to comply here but I can never drive to or through another state?" just doesn't make sense in any shape or form.

Rant off.

Nice pics! :waytogo:
