I know I've heard this noise somewhere else... When I hard accelerate, not really from a standstill.. I hear a rattle from the motor... I havent heard this noise before.. this is a fairly new GM Crate motor... It doesnt do it all the time... I have to mash it to the floor boards... it's almost sounding like the lifters or something are lifting too far and jumping on the cam... My dad's 4.3 in his 89 s-10 makes this noise once and a while...

Uhm, that is commonly know as detonation (or pre-ignition or something of the sort). Try putting a higher octane gas in it and see if it stops. Also try retarding the timing a little to see if that helps cure it. That is what it sounds like you are describing.
