ok here is the problem. i just picked up a 1991 k5, well about 3 weeks ago and iam going over the whole thing as what it needs just little things but i noticed there was no fuse in the horn-interior light so i decided to throw one in there and when i did it looed like someone was useing a welder a nice little blue flash, and blown fuse. but this happened when i accidently touched the lever for the plow which the cables run in from the firewall to the control box so could it be that has something to do with it the interior light was on then poof no fuse.so i tried to look for the horn cant find it duh:p: to see where the short is or what is causing it can you tell me where it at. its a 1991 blazer all stock 350.

check the ciggy lighter wire...mine did this and it was frayed and would ground out and pop the fuse.

another thing i forgot to mention no cigy lighter either. i will have to get the test light and see if its got juice going to it. if its not that any other suggestions.

Service manual for my '88 shows the Horn/DM 20A fuse protects: Horns, Cig. Lighter, Dome Lamps, Cargo box lamps and Clock. Get yourself a multipack of 20A fuses and start disconnecting items until you find the one that is causing your problem. Go over wiring with a fine tooth comb and make sure there are no breaks in the insulation that are making contact with metal and grounding out.
I would look over that Cig. lighter real good.
Good luck!

my fuse kept blowing.. turned out a penny had falled into my cig lighter hole.. but you just said no cig lighter so not your problem... :haha:

Yes I'd check the ciggy thing real good and also the wires that go to the dome lights- the rear one that you disco to take the top off. Look at the rear license plate wiring- the plate light sometimes gets damaged by trailoring etc and can short out wires behind it. Maybe the PO did a hack job on trailer wiring. Not sure thats on the same curcuit though. Let us know what you find.
