G80 Gov lock 14ff max tire size?

Winter roads, mud and snow. Rarely one tire off the ground scenarios. No rock crawling. I'm using minimum 37"....up to 40" most likely.
How's the G80 14ff hold up to bigger tires? (454/th400/np205 powertrain).

run one for years on a built 400sbc and 38x12.50 tsl swampers no problems .

i prefer them for street use . i even run one in my snow plow truck BUDGET BEATER and a 9ft snow plow and 700+ lbs of extra weight in the rear .

there much better than the smaller units if you know there there and how they work .

i have a n.o.s unit for 4.56-up/deeper gears if you need one for this combo .

Yeah, I have a Detroit currently....just thought this may be more winter road friendly.

Yep i did detroit and went back to g80 in my 14ff years ago for more winter snow easy driving on the street. But still worked great offroad.

Should be fine. The G80 in a 14B FF is pretty robust and not in the same league as the 10B "Gov-bomb" unit.
