Like the title says, I keyup my galaxy 44 and talk and I can hear a slight muffling of my voice but it transmitts nothing and the meter reads nothing out, also my roger beep is missing now. Any ideas? It also doesn't recieve

Have too say this, check all the setting first. Make sure it's not set on PA. All connections are tight. Providing all that is okay, I hope a final didn't pop. Could also be a power suply problem.

Sounds like your audio amplifier chip blew out or the solder broke loose.

It is a fairly common problem with radios built with that chassis. The audio amp is mounted on the side of the chassis near the mounting holes and vibration tends to weaken the solder joints. It either popped loose, you were over driving it, or it just failed.

Take it to a cb shop and they should be able to repair it fairly cheaply and quickly.
