I had a body shop take two sets of tubs and make wide ones. They lipped the seams so it wasn't just a butt weld. I drilled a few extra holes in the bed for mounting and cut the floor out deeper.
I've used those for trailer fenders before...they work good for that..
I have two in my posession that I was using to hold firewood logs in my garage,I had the 2 bolted together to form a circle, and bolted them to the wall with angle brackets...decided it took up too much room ,and the weight on the wall worried me,so I took them down..
I did try sticking one up in the rear wheel well of my 85 suburban to see if it'd work as an inner fender liner--it would, but the rot I need to patch is on the inner wheel arch and that wont cover that area...the front inner fenders on my 82 GMC are salt rotted badly,I was tempted to try using these things to patch them up,but I suppose the china replacement ones would fit and work better--but not last as long..the truck really needs a whole nose, the only good part is the radiator support now..
