Well I was just wondering...when I close my hood at the base where the hinges are...well the hood is starting to stick up in the air and forming a gap. Ive checked my hinges and there in perfect shape and the hood is not bent at all. Is this common?
and is there a way of fixing this?

Try turning the little bumpers at the front out a couple of threads. That should do the trick for ya

If the 76 still uses the old style hinges than my 73 is doing the same thing. I don't know how to fix that, yet, I just got it last week. If it has the newer style like my 80 than you can loosen the hinge and readjust-then twek the bumpstops as already mentioned.

Lube all the pins in the hinge assembly. What you're seeing is what happens when the hinges start to bind. Let it go too long and you'll start bending the hood.
