My old blitz gas cans need to be retired. The threads for the cap are worn. The replacement caps on amazon are generally pretty crappy, they either leak or break/crack within a month.

I'm not a fan of the nanny state, super complicated, compound button no drip spout.

Just a gallon gas can w/ lid and spout that doesn't leak please.

EZ Pour is a brand of replacement fuel nozzles that hold up. There are tons of counterfeit ones that don't so don't buy them from Amazon because even if you pay $10 MSRP it will likely be a counterfeit.

I bought stuff from www.GasSpouts.com they are a good amount better than other stuff that I found locally. I haven't had any more than 2 years, so I don't know how they do in the long run. And I don't let them sit out in the sun.

I've bought similar from summit, now The local Auto parts store and save big money stores are selling them. :waytogo:

Another option, Scepter Made in Canada makes military fuel cans in 10 litre (2.5gal) and 20 litre (5 gal) sizes. I don't see the 2.5 gallon on the website, but they do make them. I have seen them locally in Canada and some vendors carry them.

I've had good luck with the VP jugs. I also have the Scepter cans but you need the wrench and the spouts suck.

Yes sir. I'm pushing through the next month's work then getting back to them. I have a design for the VP cans in aluminum also. The scepter cans are great but I haven't found a solution for the spouts yet. Best way has been a large funnel and not using a spout. Everything else is slow or leaks.

Hopefully by February I'll have a dual can holder for the VP cans mounted in the race blazer so you guys can see it in use.

Unless things have changed they are not legal (for retailers anyway) to sell in the US. Typically when found here they are stupid expensive compared to what they can be purchased north of the border for. Enough that anyone making the trip south could probably make a decent amount getting rid of them.

The old school donkey d***s work on them too, but I've not tried it. The plastic fill nozzles made for the external threads break IME.

Yeah I had to purchase my Scepter cans from Ebay and it looks like they have shut those listings down also. This is why I've switched over to building racks for the 5 gal VP cans. We also build trailer / box van mounts for the Hunsaker 11 gal dump cans used on race cars along with dry break dump cans for motorcycles. I'll post up pics and listings as soon as they're finalized for sale. Side note, I'm drawing up a 4 qt oil holder too.

Sorry for the hi-jack.

VP Racing cans. From Summit or Jegs. Fast emptying. Large mouth. Not cheap $$$ but worth it !

Got this from summit but in white.

I have 2 VP Racing jugs and they are great. Get the flexible hose nozzle as in the picture and it fits into cars filler necks perfectly. However get a 45 or a 90 for the end so you can fill your lawn mower without spilling.

I picked up a plastic 5 gallon diesel version of this at tractor supply the other week. Was $40.

I don't see it listed on their site though and the store only had the one that I bought. Otherwise I would of gotten two.

This one? https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...on-military-style-diesel-can-epa?cm_vc=-10005

Not sure how much it matters, but that appears to be modified from the "true" cans the military uses. Definitely the wrong spout (the style everyone hates, as you spill more than with the old ones, and they are a hassle to use), and while hard to tell from the pic, appears to have a MUCH smaller fitting for the spout.
