I can't find the original thread about this...prolly since my membership has ran out.:doah:

My blazer's used ot work and my k20's doesnt, They're both stuck past full, the blazer would intermittenly work. But now its stuck past full.

What would the best guess be as to why? The ground maybe?

Any pointers?

Thanks

stuck past full would be an open, if the wire is cut somewhere, or the sender is bad, it will go to the 3 oclock position.

Mine's stuck on empty

Any easy fix? I just figured it was 32 years old an f'd. Planning on replacing the gauge and sender, but being cheap and lazy, if there's another way...

Stuck on empty sounds like a short. Check to make sure the wire on the sender didn't fall off and ground itself and that the wire isn't broken somewhere along the way.

Gauges and senders rarely fail. Don't waste your time and money until you make sure the wiring is good.

Went out to mess with it -- I was mistaken; the gauge is stuck at 1/4 tank. Different problem? Still wiring? Electrical is my downfall on cars - totally clueless.
