gas gauge question

i noticed when i put my headlights on, my gas gauge stops working, i turn my headlights off, and the needle jumps right back up again.
funny, but wierd

was hoping someone on here has dealt with this sort of weirdness b4, and also hoping its not some sort of "short" that i will have to start following wires and such.

not THAT big of a deal guess since its my wheeler and i dont drive at night hardly, but is there something i may be able to look for in the fuse box or any connection that may be crossed?

Bad ground or plug connection to the cluster. Mine did the same after I pulled out the cluster and put new bulbs in. Pulled it back out and pushed the connector in better and it's been working good.

i have that problem too only my gas gauge stops working all the cluster lights dont work and the brake lights stop working... sometimes everything will work perferct but 90% of the time it doesn't
