My gas guage is always reading zero and it does have duel tanks just to let you know, so what is the most likly reason for it not reading the level. I have a full tank in one.

I used to have a diagram I did in mspaint...

maybe someone up here saved it... my hard drive went and I lost it..

so both tanks read empty?

does the dual tank work? you can use left or right?
if not then maybe power to the switch is not there..

what readymix means is if one or both your tanks are reading empty and it/they arn't you have a short somewhere in the wiring. if you have one or both (like me w/my passinger tank) reading way past full when it/they arn't there is an open in the wiring (broken wire, bad/no connection somewhere etc)

hmmm. open = way past full.

love my current problem...(91 k5)at full down to 3/4 full it works fine but under 3/4 its fine when you first start it up but as soon as you start moving it jumps up and back to 3/4 and jumps everywhere above it.

open....hmmm

THANKS!

You have a bad gauge. There is a crystal connecting the two poles of the gauge. You can get a repair kit through fix a gauge.com or something like that.

If you had an open along the wiper of the sending unit it would read way past full. An open is an open. It does not matter where it is.

on my truck full has always been about the distance of a 1/4 tank past full......always has been. Still is the same spot for full but when it starts bouncing it goes WAY past that at its furthest.

ill check it all out. Just replaced the fuel pump a few months ago so i already have a door for the area at the tank.
