Hey guys so I’ve got a 1982 K5 blazer I’ve been restoring and when I press down on the gas pedal it seems really stiff and doesn’t wanna depress and when I press down a little harder it all of a sudden frees up and I’ll end up launching forward. I checked the pedal mounting because I felt like it was coming from there and that was loose so i tightened it up but I still have the issue. Any idea what causes this?

Can be the cable sticking in the sleeve, could also be the carb

Any recent work on that stuff? Cable get crimped or pinched under the hood?

Just adjusting the idle and new throttle return springs. Should I look at where the throttle cable is connected to the carb? I don’t think it’s getting pinched under the hood

How about, take those new throttle return springs off and see what it does without them
Maybe the springs you picked are way too much

Mess with that carb too. It could be hanging up

Unhook the cable and springs, it should return to the idle stop when you let go of it
