Gas prices

I moved closer to my job and school. I was 22 miles from both, and now a mere 4 miles. I also started driving the wifes Saturn L200 as opposed to our SUV.. She never goes anywhere, so it helps.

you actually save a lot of money buying a commuter bucket...not only do you triple your gas mileage, but your saving money on tires and weatr and tear and whatnot. it costs me entirely too much money too drive my truck around, plus it doesn't like streets anyway, so why torture us both? My brother and i each through 500 into a 90 SHO which gets about 22 mpg, which isn't too bad, but the real benefit to me is not haveing to drive my real cars around and put hella miles on them for no reason... damn thing must have paid for itself 2 or 3 times already...

i dont usually go anywhere unless i really needor want to, ive cut back quantity of driving alot as compared to a few years ago and before when i was always out moving around and such

being that gas costs so much more now alot of older vehicles early 90s and before have virtually all been scrapped by ppl who can haul them to the shredder also due to less work being around to find, layoffs, places closing, costs rising that force places ot cut back and not just on quantity of employees,

i cant see how it can keep going how it is headed before something gives, big time

ppl already couldnt afford much before, and now with less jobs and skyrocketing cost of fuels and oils and so forth,,

hmm

not good looking

richer getting richer and poorer getting poorer

past will repeat, its heading that way even quicker now

have no choice but to cut back also, just like the companies and such are all doing and have been doing

less gas we need to buy then the more $ we have left over and less of it into the pckets of big oil and such

using least amount of fuel as possible should be a huge goal for everyone, especially those who were already having a hard time making it

its cheaper for me to buy another car for gas mileage. I drive 60 miles a day and my 74 gets 7 mpg's. I bought a toyota for 600 and gets 21 mpg's so that 3x better and the truck only cost me 1 months gas to start making money. Its all about finding deals. Hell i bought the toyota 2 months ago and drove 7000 miles already doing side jobs and stuff imagine what that would have cost in my 74 and the toyota is still a longbed pickup.

I see you did some quick math, but what does that Toyota cost you in insurance and repairs a year? You see it all adds up. The math will be close if you do find a great deal, but realistically is it a good deal when you're driving a Toyota? lol. I'm not here is to argue with anyone, but I just wanted to put my two cents in. So let's just agree to disagree.

Well, while my K5 is being rebuilt and my Diesel Topaz is getting new fuel system and floors I went out and bought another Topaz for $200. I had to licence it for another $200. So far I have been driving it about 2 months and had to fix nothing that cost me any money. You can turn over a rock and get parts or another whole car. So it is really cheap on fuel compared to the Blazer and it cost me $400 all together. So take out the fuel my truck would burn more than the car, and the parts I would be ruining and replacing in my truck and you do the math. The car is sound with 140,000 kilometers on it, needs nothing. Insurance was no different from 99 Dodge Status to 78 K5 to 86 Topaz. So I am saving IMO.
